Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Spray a 13×9-inch baking pan with nonstick baking spray like Pam to prevent the treats from sticking.
  2. Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large pot over medium-low heat, melt ¼ cup of butter. Add the entire 10½-ounce bag of mini marshmallows and stir continuously until the marshmallows are almost fully melted and combined with the butter.
  3. Add Nutella and Vanilla: Stir in ⅔ cup Nutella and 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract into the melted marshmallow mixture until everything is blended and smooth.
  4. Mix in Cereal: Remove the pot from heat. Gradually stir in 6 cups of Cocoa Krispies cereal, adding a cup or two at a time, until the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow and Nutella mixture.
  5. Press into Pan: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking pan and press it down evenly. To help flatten, use the flat end of a spatula lightly sprayed with nonstick spray.
  6. Add Toppings and Toast: Evenly scatter the ⅓ cup miniature marshmallows, ¼ cup chopped toasted pecans, and 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips on top of the treat layer. Place the pan into a preheated 400°F oven for about 5 minutes to lightly toast the marshmallows and soften the chocolate chips.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and allow the treats to cool completely before cutting into 24 squares. Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
