Instructions
- Toast the Pecans: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Spread the raw pecans evenly on an ungreased baking sheet. Toast them in the oven for 7 to 9 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning. The nuts are perfectly toasted at about 8 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
- Process the Pecans: Place the toasted pecans into a food processor and blend for 5 to 10 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed. Initially, the pecans will become ground, then begin to clump together as the oils release. Continue processing until you achieve your desired creamy consistency.
- Add Flavorings: Add in the maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and sea salt to the food processor. Continue processing until the mixture is smooth and well combined. If the pecan butter becomes too thick, add 1 to 3 teaspoons of coconut oil to loosen it and blend again until smooth.
- Store the Pecan Butter: Transfer the finished pecan butter to a mason jar or airtight container. Store it at room temperature or in the refrigerator. If kept at room temperature, stir the butter before each use as the oils may separate over time.
