Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup nuts of choice
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 8 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons unsulphured molasses
- Splash of vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone liner to prevent sticking.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, nuts, ground cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and sea salt. In a separate small bowl or measuring cup, whisk together coconut oil, maple syrup, molasses, and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Combine Wet and Dry: Pour the wet ingredient mixture over the dry ingredients and stir thoroughly until the oats and nuts are evenly coated.
- Press and Bake: Transfer the granola mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to press the granola firmly into an even layer, helping it stick together as it bakes.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes. Halfway through, check to ensure even baking and gently press again if needed.
- Cool and Harden: Remove from oven and allow the granola to cool on the baking sheet for 15 minutes. This cooling step lets it harden and makes it easier to break into chunks.
- Break and Store: Once cooled, break the granola into pieces of your desired size and store them in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
