  • Author: Harry
  • Total Time: 13 minutes
  • Yield: About 2 cups (serves 6-8) 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Fried Pickle Dip is a creamy, tangy appetizer that combines the crunch of toasted Panko bread crumbs with a flavorful blend of sour cream, cream cheese, and chopped dill pickles. Enhanced with Ranch seasoning, garlic powder, and fresh dill, this dip is perfect for serving with chips at parties or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Toasted Topping

  • ½ cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

For the Dip

  • 1 ½ cups sour cream
  • 4 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 1 (1-ounce) packet Ranch seasoning
  • 1 ½ cups chopped dill pickles
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickle juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh dill

Instructions

  1. Toast the Panko Bread Crumbs: In a medium-sized skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. Add ½ cup of Panko bread crumbs and stir frequently for 2-3 minutes until the crumbs turn a golden brown color and become crisp. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Combine Dip Ingredients: In a medium bowl, add 1 ½ cups sour cream, 4 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1 packet of Ranch seasoning, 1 ½ cups chopped dill pickles, 2 tablespoons dill pickle juice, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1 tablespoon minced fresh dill.
  3. Mix Until Smooth: Using an electric hand mixer, blend all the ingredients until the mixture is smooth and well combined, ensuring an even distribution of flavors.
  4. Chill and Serve: You can serve the dip immediately or place it in the refrigerator to chill for about 1 hour. Chilling allows the flavors to meld and the dip to thicken. Before serving, generously top the dip with the toasted Panko bread crumbs and garnish with additional fresh dill if desired. Serve with potato chips or your preferred dippers.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh dill for a bright, herbal flavor.
  • Chilling the dip enhances the flavor but is optional for a quicker prep time.
  • To make the dip spicier, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeño.
  • This dip pairs well with potato chips, crackers, or fresh vegetable sticks.
  • Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
