  • Author: Harry
  • Total Time: 1 hour 45 minutes
  • Yield: 12 bars 1x

Description

These easy churro cheesecake bars combine the classic flavors of cinnamon sugar churros with a creamy cheesecake filling between layers of buttery crescent roll dough. Perfect for a sweet snack or dessert, they bake to golden perfection with a crispy cinnamon-sugar crust and smooth cheesecake center.

Ingredients

Scale

Cinnamon Sugar Mix

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Cheesecake Filling

  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Dough

  • 2 (8 oz) cans Pillsbury crescent dinner rolls

Other

  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Flour for dusting surface

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the bars.
  2. Prepare Cinnamon Sugar: In a medium bowl, mix together 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon. Set aside this cinnamon sugar mixture.
  3. Make Cheesecake Filling: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1 large egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix until all ingredients are fully combined and creamy. Set aside.
  4. Prepare Pan: Spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Evenly sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture across the bottom of the pan.
  5. Form Bottom Dough Layer: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough onto a lightly floured surface. Pinch the seams together to seal into one sheet. Carefully transfer and press this dough onto the cinnamon sugar in the pan, covering the bottom completely.
  6. Add Cheesecake Layer: Evenly spread the prepared cheesecake filling over the base dough layer in the pan.
  7. Form Top Dough Layer: Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough onto a floured surface and again pinch the seams to seal. Place this second dough layer carefully on top of the cheesecake filling, covering it fully.
  8. Add Remaining Cinnamon Sugar: Sprinkle the remaining half of the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top dough layer.
  9. Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the top is light golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Cool and Chill: Remove from the oven and allow to cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate the bars for at least one hour to set before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for smooth mixing.
  • Lightly flouring the surface prevents the crescent dough from sticking while sealing seams.
  • Chilling the bars helps the cheesecake layer firm up, making slicing easier.
  • You can adjust the cinnamon sugar quantity if you prefer a more or less intense cinnamon flavor.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and consume within 3-4 days for best freshness.
