Description

Deviled Strawberries are a delightful and elegant dessert featuring juicy fresh strawberries topped with a creamy, sweetened cream cheese filling and a crunchy golden Oreo-strawberry gelatin topping. This no-bake treat perfectly balances creamy, fruity, and crunchy textures, making it a fun and festive appetizer or dessert for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberry Crunch Topping

  • 6 golden Oreo cookies, finely crushed
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons strawberry flavored gelatin powder (Jell-O brand)

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 1215 large fresh strawberries, rinsed, patted dry, and cut in halves
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberry Crunch Topping: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set aside.
  2. Crush Cookies: Place golden Oreo cookies in a small food processor or high-speed blender and pulse for 30-60 seconds until finely crushed. Transfer crumbs to a bowl.
  3. Mix with Butter and Gelatin: In a separate bowl, combine melted butter and strawberry gelatin powder, stirring until fully dissolved. Add this mixture to the crushed cookie crumbs and stir to combine, producing a two-toned crunchy texture.
  4. Bake Crumbs: Spread the crumbs evenly on the prepared baking sheet in a thin layer. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from oven and cool completely. Break apart any large clumps before use.
  5. Prepare Strawberries: Rinse fresh strawberries under cool water and pat dry thoroughly. Remove green leaves and slice strawberries in half lengthwise. Arrange on a serving platter with the cut side facing up.
  6. Make Cream Cheese Filling: In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese with a handheld mixer on medium speed for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  7. Add Remaining Filling Ingredients: Gradually add powdered sugar and beat on low until incorporated. Then add heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Continue beating for 1-2 minutes until the filling is light and creamy.
  8. Assemble Deviled Strawberries: Using a teaspoon or piping bag fitted with a decorative tip, dollop approximately 1½ teaspoons of the cream cheese filling onto the cut side of each strawberry half.
  9. Finish with Crunch Topping: Sprinkle the cooled strawberry crunch topping evenly over the cream cheese dollops on each strawberry half.
  10. Serve: Serve immediately for the best texture, or refrigerate briefly before serving. Enjoy this sweet, creamy, and crunchy dessert.

Notes

  • Make sure strawberries are patted very dry to prevent soggy cream cheese filling.
  • Golden Oreos provide the sweet crunch; do not substitute with chocolate Oreos for authentic flavor.
  • The cream cheese filling can be piped for a decorative look.
  • To prep ahead, prepare crunch and cream cheese filling separately and assemble just before serving.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; best eaten fresh.
