  • Diet: Low Fat

Description

These Blueberry & Coconut Oil Gummy Dog Treats are a healthy, homemade snack perfect for your furry friend. Made with natural ingredients like fresh blueberries, coconut oil, and gelatin, they offer a tasty and nutritious alternative to store-bought treats. Easy to prepare and store, these gummies are ideal for rewarding your dog with a delicious, low-calorie treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 Packets Unflavored Gelatin (0.5 ounces)
  • ½ Cup Coconut Oil
  • ¼ Cup Fresh Blueberries
  • 2 Tablespoons Water (optional)

Equipment

  • Dog Bone Silicone Mold
  • Injector (optional)

Instructions

  1. Puree Blueberries: Place blueberries in a blender and puree until smooth and even.
  2. Liquefy Coconut Oil: Add coconut oil to a small dish and microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the oil is liquid but not hot.
  3. Combine Blueberries and Coconut Oil: Add the liquid coconut oil to the pureed blueberries and blend just until mixed.
  4. Adjust Mixture if Needed: If the mixture solidifies because the blueberries are cold, microwave a few seconds at a time until the coconut oil liquefies again.
  5. Add Gelatin: Stir in the gelatin packets and blend until fully mixed. If the mixture is too thick, add up to 1 tablespoon of warm water to achieve a batter-like consistency.
  6. Prepare Mold: Place the silicone mold on a flat surface or flat tray for easy transfer to the fridge.
  7. Fill Mold: Use an injector or spoon to fill the molds evenly with the blueberry and coconut oil mixture.
  8. Refrigerate: Place the filled mold in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight to set.
  9. Remove Treats: Pop the gummies out of the mold once set.
  10. Store Treats: Store the gummy treats in an airtight container to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • Use fresh blueberries for the best flavor and nutrition.
  • Coconut oil may solidify quickly when mixed with cold ingredients; warming in short bursts helps maintain proper consistency.
  • If you don’t have an injector, you can fill molds with a spoon or by pouring carefully.
  • Keep treats refrigerated for freshness, especially during warm weather.
  • These treats are intended as occasional snacks and should not replace a balanced diet.
