Scale
Main Ingredients
- 2 Packets Unflavored Gelatin (0.5 ounces)
- ½ Cup Coconut Oil
- ¼ Cup Fresh Blueberries
- 2 Tablespoons Water (optional)
Equipment
- Dog Bone Silicone Mold
- Injector (optional)
Instructions
- Puree Blueberries: Place blueberries in a blender and puree until smooth and even.
- Liquefy Coconut Oil: Add coconut oil to a small dish and microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the oil is liquid but not hot.
- Combine Blueberries and Coconut Oil: Add the liquid coconut oil to the pureed blueberries and blend just until mixed.
- Adjust Mixture if Needed: If the mixture solidifies because the blueberries are cold, microwave a few seconds at a time until the coconut oil liquefies again.
- Add Gelatin: Stir in the gelatin packets and blend until fully mixed. If the mixture is too thick, add up to 1 tablespoon of warm water to achieve a batter-like consistency.
- Prepare Mold: Place the silicone mold on a flat surface or flat tray for easy transfer to the fridge.
- Fill Mold: Use an injector or spoon to fill the molds evenly with the blueberry and coconut oil mixture.
- Refrigerate: Place the filled mold in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight to set.
- Remove Treats: Pop the gummies out of the mold once set.
- Store Treats: Store the gummy treats in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
Notes
- Use fresh blueberries for the best flavor and nutrition.
- Coconut oil may solidify quickly when mixed with cold ingredients; warming in short bursts helps maintain proper consistency.
- If you don’t have an injector, you can fill molds with a spoon or by pouring carefully.
- Keep treats refrigerated for freshness, especially during warm weather.
- These treats are intended as occasional snacks and should not replace a balanced diet.
